How you pick up your car
Hersonisos is about 26 km east of the centre and 24 km from the airport, around 25 minutes on the VOAK. The resort is the harbour town on the coast; the older villages of Koutouloufari, Piskopiano and Ano Hersonisos sit on the hill above it. Wherever you stay, the supplier either brings the car to your hotel or sends you directions to their office, and lets you know which after booking.
The road up to the Lasithi plateau leaves the coast here: Psychro, the village below the Dikteon cave, is 34 km away, about 45 minutes.
